COURSE TITLE

Preventing Violence in the Workplace

2009 Summer Institute
July 29, 2009, Oakland, CA

DESCRIPTION

Safety Compliance Alert magazine reported that while U.S. workplace deaths were down overall from 2006 to 2007, homicides increased 13%, making homicides the number two cause of on-the-job deaths after transportation incidents. In spite of these statistics, an ASSE survey revealed that 26% of companies had not done a risk assessment to determine the types of potential violence in their workplace. Has your company done a workplace violence risk assessment? Do you have a violence prevention program in place? This one-day workshop will use discussion of real life cases of violent situations and easy-to-use checklists and forms to give you the tools to set up a violence prevention program tailored to your company.
