Comprehensive Review of Industrial Hygiene

COURSE DESCRIPTION
This five-day class will present a comprehensive review of the field
of industrial hygiene in preparation for the American Board of Industrial
Hygiene (ABIH) Comprehensive Practice Examination. Participants will
receive two large binders of study materials. This course is not intended for entry
level professionals. Abilities in basic mathematics and chemistry are
presumed.
Topics: Learning techniques and homework problems, particulates, ionizing and non-ionizing
radiation, biohazards, ventilation, thermal stress, calculations and
conversions, statistics, industrial processes, indoor and environmental
air pollution, sampling and analytical procedures for gases and vapors,
instrumentation, calibration, ergonomics, toxicology, noise, respiratory
protection and PPE, management aspects and ethics, and epidemiology.
*Participants must bring a scientific calculator to class.
