COURSE TITLE

Continuing Education for Certified Lead Professionals

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The lead inspection and lead-related construction field is changing rapidly. This course is designed to meet the California Department of Public Health (DPH) requirement for continuing education for lead professionals. Some of the most experienced lead professionals in California present the most up-to-date information on regulations, work practices, inspection and removal equipment, and trends in the lead industry. You hear a summary of the changes that have taken place and get an update on the newest requirements and practices. In addition, you interact with professionals from throughout California and the western United States.

Many other training providers try to use the course materials we wrote for this course, because they know our materials are the best. No other school even comes close to matching the number and quality of our instructors. The best materials and the best instructors make for the best value in lead training.

Who Needs Lead Continuing Education?

The California DPH requires seven hours of lead continuing education for two groups:

  • All DPH-certified lead professionals who wish to maintain their certification

  • Individuals who want to apply for DPH certification but who completed their DPH-approved lead training more than a year ago and who have not yet applied for DPH certification.

You need to attend seven hours of DPH-approved lead continuing education:

  • Every two years if you are already DPH-certified

  • During the year before you apply for DPH certification if you took your basic course training more than a year before you apply

  • Prior to the expiration date on your DPH certification (your certification date is important, not the date you took your last continuing education course)

  • Sufficiently in advance of your certification expiration date to allow for DPH processing time.

You need to attend only one seven-hour continuing education course, regardless of the number of certifications you wish to maintain or the initial training you wish to update.

Prerequisite

Individuals taking this course must have completed a basic DPH-approved lead course or be currently California DPH-certified in any discipline (except Worker).
