COURSE TITLE

2008 Industrial Hygiene Forum Series #2

Emergency Preparedness and Mutual Aid

Wednesday, April 9, 2008

SPEAKER

Lynn Brown, Emergency Preparedness Coordinator, Office of Emergency Services, City of Mountain View.
BRAG, California OES Regional Representative.

DESCRIPTION

EH&S professionals are increasingly involved in preparing for and responding to emergencies. While most of these emergencies can be handled internally, at times they cannot, and the EH&S professional needs to know what local, state, and national emergency response organizations exist and which one(s) to contact in a given situation. As emergency responders, EH&S professionals can also provide assistance to other organizations that go beyond their given geographical region. This program will provide practical information about the national, state, and local emergency management and mutual aid framework including:

  • National Incident Management System
  • Standardized Emergency Management System (in California)
  • Mutual Aid System in California (and specifically the Bay Area) among the various agencies.

Check the Courses page for Forum #3 on October 14, 2008.
